Purpose and scope of this policy

This policy describes how advertising works on https://informationrequirements.us, which advertising partners we work with, what data is used, and the standards every page on this site must meet. It applies to any advertising shown on this site and to the pages that advertisements point to.

Our advertising partner

Advertising on this site, where enabled, is served through Microsoft Advertising (Bing). No other advertising network, exchange or reseller is authorised to serve advertisements on these pages. We do not sell advertising inventory to third parties.

What data is used for advertising

We provide no personal data to any advertising partner. Advertising cookies are set only after you consent in the cookie banner, and they are used to limit how often an advertisement repeats and to measure aggregate performance. We do not use health information, financial account data, precise geolocation, information about children, or any other sensitive category for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles of visitors.

Consent before advertising cookies

No advertising cookie is set before consent. If you reject non-essential cookies, or if you accept only strictly necessary cookies, advertising cookies are not written and no advertising identifier is passed to any partner. You can change this at any time with the "Cookie settings" control in the footer.

Compliance with Microsoft Advertising policies

• Every page an advertisement may point to identifies the business, provides accurate contact details and states what the business does.
• This website does not sell products or accept payment online, and no advertisement from us offers a purchase, a price or a discount.
• We do not use misleading, exaggerated or unsupported claims in any advertisement or landing page.
• We do not incentivise clicks, use click-bait, or place advertisements that imitate system messages or navigation.
• We do not block, obscure or interfere with Microsoft Advertising, and we do not cloak or redirect ad traffic to different content.
• Content on this site contains no prohibited material, no unlawful offers and no content directed at children.

What we will never do

We will not sell visitor data, use advertising to collect personal information, remarket to people based on sensitive information, serve advertisements that follow a visitor from a page about health, finances or other sensitive subjects, or publish landing pages whose content differs from what a visitor was shown.

Landing page standards

Each page on this site loads without errors on mobile and desktop, presents its main content without obstruction, includes a visible link to the Privacy Policy and contact details, and matches the subject of any advertisement that points to it. Pages are static and lightweight so that they load quickly on ordinary connections.

Your ad choices and opt-outs

You can control interest-based advertising from Microsoft through the Microsoft advertising settings and the Microsoft Advertising privacy policy, and more generally through the NAI and DAA opt-out tools.

Reporting a problem with an advertisement

If you see an advertisement that you believe breaches this policy or Microsoft Advertising policies, tell us: email [email protected] or write to the address below, describing where you saw it and when. We investigate and respond within ten business days, and we remove or correct non-compliant material promptly.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our advertising arrangements change. The date at the top of the page shows the version in force.
